According to research by the sports betting firm Sporting Index, the Top 4 at the end of the Premier League season is likely to remain the same compared to today including Liverpool, Man City, Leicester and Chelsea.
Sporting Index conducted research based on a supercomputer, with data coming from the last five seasons. The results showed that the four teams that won the top four positions would not change from the present.
In the race for fourth place, Chelsea will win by two points. Sheffield United will take fifth place, leading a team just five points behind each other. The four following teams include Man Utd, Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham.
Meanwhile, on the current scoreboard, Man Utd ranked fifth with 45 points, only three points behind Chelsea. Sheffield United came in seventh with 43 points, equal to Wolves but poorly sub-index.
Chelsea and Man Utd are vying for fourth place
In the race against relegation, Sporting Index predicted Norwich escape the last position but could not avoid the sad ending. The two teams relegated to them are Watford and Aston Villa. As expected, West Ham and Brighton are all narrowly ranked with the same 39 points, only more than the difference of goal difference compared to Aston Villa.
Sporting Index’s calculation of the champion team was not surprising compared to reality: Liverpool. However, they believe that Jurgen Klopp’s teachers and students finished the tournament with 99 points, one point behind Man City’s record in the 2017-2018 season.
On the actual scoreboard, Liverpool is leading with 82 points. The Anfield team only need to win two of the remaining nine matches of the season to win the match.
Premier League will play back from June 17. Two days later, Man Utd battle Tottenham.
Three players scored twice in the Man Utd internal match
Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo and Luke Shaw all scored twice in the internal match with a 4-4 draw from Man Utd.
Next time, when the Premier League comes back, Man Utd will often play on the field without the audience. This is one of the preventive measures to keep things going smoothly during the pandemic season.
